The Defenders of the Coast is a non-for-profit emergency response organization. Our mission is to serve communities through ongoing patrolling of the coast, education, collaboration and accountability. We are a group specializing in hazardous material knowledge and we respond to events, man-made and/or natural, threatening the integrity and life of our coastal regions. We collaborate in response efforts and take action to hold those responsible, accountable.

"In my experience, organizations on the front lines of defense like Defenders of the Coast play an extremely important role in the coastal restoration efforts in Louisiana.  I'm proud to be associated with this volunteer group of dedicated and concerned citizens as we continue our daily struggle to save the nation's most important wetlands from continued erosion and loss."
